Job Description

Natural Power are looking for a Wind Turbine Technician to join our team in Rothes Group, covering Rothes 1 & 2 Windfarms and Paul's Hill Windfarm, which sit local to Elgin and Forres in Moray.  Additionally, Mid Hill Windfarm, near Stonehaven, falls within the responsibility of Rothes Group and there will be a requirement to work there from time to time, including while on call. 

As a Wind Turbine Technician you will mainly be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on 101 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines, including fault finding.  As the successful candidate your main focus will be to operate safely and deliver extremely high levels of availability for these turbines, to enable maximum power generation, through decisive, high quality maintenance practices.  Natural Power is a well established employer in this field, whose success depends on dynamic and well motivated individuals, who thrive on team work and delivering results.  If you’re an experienced Wind Turbine Technician with relevant GWO qualifications we would be very keen to hear from you. Due to the nature of this role a full UK driving licence is required.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Execution of all site servicing and maintenance activities ensuring required standard of service is achieved and maintained whilst maximising the operational output of the site
  • All activities will be recorded on Maintenance Management System for accurate asset management and parts consumption 
  • Accurate recording of timesheets
  • Company vehicles and company property used appropriately
  • Keep up to date on all technical matters relating to their role and the site turbine technology
  • To maintain a positive company profile
  • Communicate and liaise with all other NPS/NPC departments as required to execute the role
  • To actively pursue personal development through training, being mentored and keeping an up to date knowledge of the wind power industry
  • Support ‘On call’ rota and any additional work/duties when requested at short notice

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to NC/HNC/HND/City & Guilds/Level 3 or level 5 in electrical, mechanical or multi-disciplined
  • An ability to work as part of a team but equally show strong initiative, ability and confidence to make decisions.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with and manage client and colleague relationships
  • Adopt a flexible approach to be able to manage tasks concurrently, and to be able to handle short notice pieces of work
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering experience in heavy industry maintenance
