Support Worker - Part time / Full time available

Job Description

We are currently able to offer either permanent or temporary contracts dependent on your suitability / avilability, working 30 hours per week. A great way to step into the care sector and test out the work environment! 

We are a peaceful, homely Victorian house in the historic town of Glastonbury, surrounded by the Somerset countryside with links to the major towns of Bristol, Bath and Taunton. Glastonbury is a town and civil parish in Somerset, England, situated at a dry point on the low-lying Somerset Levels, 23 miles (37 km) south of Bristol. The town, which is in the Mendip district, had a population of 8,932 in the 2011 census. Glastonbury is a lovely vibrant town with lots of attractions, making this an ideal work base for those who like adventure – as do the people we support. You will join a small team supporting people with sensory impairments. The people we support live full and active lives if you want to play part in this – with no two days the same, We enjoy a wide range of activities that include swimming, long walks, art, drumming, trampoline, beach trips, bus/train trips, camping, holidays and the great outdoors as well as meaningful activities at home, so we would like someone who thrives on supporting us in a range of activities and willing to look at new opportunities. 

The work involves varied shifts, from sleep in's, weekends evening and days. We are looking for people who want to have flexibility but are able to offer commitment and shared values in return, a great role for someone looking to get into the care sector! Support Worker, Glastonbury, Duties:

• To support individuals / groups within the service and community.
• To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
• To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Support Worker, Glastonbury, Desired Experience:

• A full manual UK license would be beneficial but is not essential
• You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
• Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
