Job Description

Its an exciting time as Sense has just released its new strategy, we are expanding and now have an opportunity for a support worker to join us in Solihull.  

This is a part time role, working 5 hours per week on a fixed term contract until the end of September. There is a potential for a permanent post at the end of the contract. You will be supporting an individual in their home who has a range of complex needs, including sensory loses and learning disabilities. You also have the option to work across our other services in the Midlands.

Your duties can include:

  • Day to day activities led by the needs and aspirations of the people / person you'll be supporting.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
  • Caring/Support Worker experience in a personal / voluntary / professional capacity.
  • Be able to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of those you are working with. Where necessary develop new skills to enable communication through sign and symbols.
  • Experience of working independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Willing and able to accompany/participate in leisure activities of the person’s choice.
  • Full valid UK driving licence with use of your own vehicle
