About the role
As a Senior Evaluation Officer, you will use both your research and project management skills to work on a range of exciting monitoring, evaluation, analysis and research projects within our Research and Monitoring Unit (RMU). Your work will produce evidence on active travel that is transparent and authoritative, helping to shape policy, practice and behaviour across the UK.
Sustrans’ Research and Monitoring Unit is a leading centre of excellence in active travel research, monitoring and evaluation. Our team work closely with partners from across the UK to ensure we have a clear understanding of the impact of Sustrans’ work and the wider context of the benefits of active travel.
As the Senior Evaluating Officer, Wales, you will lead your team and project manage the delivery of a range of monitoring, evaluation, analysis and research projects within the RMU, focusing on Sustrans projects in Wales. You will work closely with the Sustrans delivery team in Wales to support their policy and influencing priorities and strategic agenda.
While we are currently working from home, once Covid restrictions lift, this role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should therefore be based within a commutable distance from our office base in Cardiff.
We are looking for excellent communicators and creative thinkers with the ability to manage and motivate people, who can get the best out of others.
You will have exceptional analytical skills and be able to draw on your previous experience in project management and of using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods in order to apply them to real-world projects.
If you have a track record of scoping, designing, budgeting and reporting on research projects, this could be the role for you.
