Job Description

Sense are looking for a motivated person to join our professional team as a Community Support Worker in Blaenau Gwent. This is a part time position, working a minimum of 2 hours per week in a community setting. 

This role is in a well established community service, supporting over 40  clients with sensory impairments to maintain independence and carry out activities that are important to them. Support can include helping a client with their weekly shopping, taking exercise or attending local groups.

You will support an individual to do the things they want to do - not to do things for them. You’ll be there to act as the eyes and ears of the individual – to make sure that communication is clear and that they are able to move around safely.

About you

  • You must be able to work flexible hours to suit the service requirements and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
  • BSL skills would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • You must be enthusiastic, adaptable and friendly with a commitment to ensuring the individual you work with get the best out of their lives.
