Sense is currently expanding its reach throughout the United Kingdom, we are growing and developing quickly, we now have the opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our established team in the South West.

Job Description

This role is to cover in the the South West, you will work in conjunction with the other Operations Managers to ensure a good coverage and excellent support for all the services across the South of England. We work as a team covering the whole of the South supporting each other.

We need someone who is able to analyze complex information, be solution focused -creative with a can do attitude. Able to work alone and as part of a team.

The cover of services will be a shared. The responsibility and as such the allocation of services will be part of the discussions with the successful candidate, the other Operations Managers and the Head of Operations.

Our services in the South West are diverse and cover a wide geographic area the successful applicant will be flexible, able to travel, a good role model, have good leadership qualities and able to listen to the people we support - we work in a co-production model and so the views of families and significant others are important to us. You will need to be  able to challenge stereotypes and ensure everyone we support has an ordinary life with extraordinary outcomes - whatever they aim for. 

Service models are varied from Registered Residential Care Homes , Supported Living services, Communicator guide/Intervenor and Community Support a high proportion of our services are Outstanding - and we aim to have all rated Outstanding in at least one area, but just as importantly we want everyone we support and their families to rate us as Outstanding in service delivery, responsiveness and being focused on supporting people to achieve their dreams and the outcomes they want. The Office base for this role is in Bristol. Interviews are likely to be virtual there will be a presentation required. Following a successful interview site visits will take place.

Your duties can include:

  • Providing management, direction and operational leadership, within a defined geographical locality ensuring delivery of innovative and effective services within the budgets available.
  • Ensuring with support that the defined geographical locality meets financial targets, complies with Sense standards, quality indicators, all Ofsted and CQC requirements and inspection report recommendations and that all legislative and regulatory requirements are fully met and monitored.
  • To ensure with support that the children, young people and adults accessing Sense service provision receive excellent, care and support during their time within services so they can achieve high quality outcomes in all aspects of their development.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • You must be willing to work towards a Level Five Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or be working towards an accredited award.
  • You will need to have had proven experience of supervising and line managing staff in accordance with policy and legislation, as well as experience of managing misconduct, grievance and performance issues..
  • Experience of both supported living and residential CQC registration
  • Experience or knowledge of working within the Reach standards
  • Ability to use IT software packages
