Do you have experience in backend engineering? Could you lead our team to delivery end-to-end engineering support? We’re recruiting for a Lead Sitecore Developer (Back-end) to join our Software Engineering team.

Job Description

As our Lead Sitecore Developer you’ll direct, lead and develop our team to deliver our total end-to-end engineering output. You’ll manage Developers and lead on designing solutions across technologies including .NET, Python, JS, Java, PHP, SQL as well as taking overall accountability for the quality of code outputs from the team.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Software Engineering, Head of Product Delivery, Planning & Product Managers, Support and Business Analysts to take requirements into sizing, scoping, design and delivery. Ultimately leading the support required to deliver these projects.
 
Please note whilst this role is being advertised as a Lead Sitecore Developer the role will be known as Leader of Backend Engineering internally.
 
Working arrangements

This is a dual location role, with your working time split between your home and approximately 1-2 days per week in our London office, depending on project requirements and delivery team activities. This will allow us to unlock our best work for our cause, blending the best of home and office working.

About you

With a degree in a technology, computing or related discipline or significant relevant industry experience you’ll be a certified .NET developer and certified Sitecore 8, 9 Developer. You’ll also have excellent technical knowledge of C#, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, SQL, MVC, Angular, Bootstrap, Object Oriented Javascript, Node.JS, jQuery (and related frameworks), Gulp & Grunt.

You’ll have extensive web development experience on .NET, C#, SQL, ideally some of which will include Sitecore, API and integration solutions. With experience leading and line-managing others, you’ll be able to manage workflows with ease, motivating a team to your vision and providing mentoring and progression support.

To be successful in this role you’ll also have the following skills and experience:

  •  Strong depth of experience across technologies
  •  Strong experience developing component designs, technical specifications and high-level architecting .NET, C# solutions, ideally with cloud-based deployment
  •  Strong experience designing, developing and implementing responsive websites using .NET and C# optimising responsive and accessible functionality

You’ll have a first-class technical mind, effective at simplifying complex problems into component parts for delivery and articulating to technical and non-technical audiences. This will be matched by the ability to provide solution and technical guidance to the wider organisation, management and hands-on development to deliver inspiring online products and world-class user experiences.

With a demonstrable passion for taking the initiative to solve problems you’ll have a strong level of adaptability, effective at managing a variety of personalities, situations and to support and apply positive change in the organisation or the role requirements.
