At the NSPCC we have a unique and ambitious vision to end cruelty to children. We firmly believe that every childhood is worth fighting for. By joining our team, you will not just get a great job; you will have an opportunity to work for an influential organisation, well known and respected in the UK, an organisation at the forefront of child protection research, policy and training.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the main purpose of this role is to provide high quality, consistent HR advice to employees and managers on NSPCC policies and UK Employment legislation. You will be part of a team of four HR officers working together to guide NSPCC staff through such procedures as recruitment, inductions, sickness absence, performance management, discipline and grievance as well as processing changes to pay and terms & conditions. You will also need to advise and coach our NSPCC colleagues in order to raise an awareness and understanding of our people policies and procedures.
You will be working with our HR software supporting recruitment, management and updating of HR records and payroll.
Confident, committed, well organised with a customer-focused approach to your work, you’ll have everything it takes to build successful working relationships right across the team. You’ll also have a HR background that demonstrates your ability to advise and coach people managers, preferably with a recognised professional HR qualification. You should have a working knowledge of employment law, Microsoft Office and computerised HR software.
