This is a permanent role, working 2 hours per fortnight.
This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to support an elderly individual who has Dementia to access the community for social and leisure purposes.
You will be supporting the person to participate in activities they enjoy and have meaningful experiences.
You will support them to make their own choices of how they want to spend their day, but a typical day in this role might be spent:
Attending a garden centre / cafe for a tea or coffee
Short walks in the park with a tea or coffee
Lunch out at a café / restaurant
There is no personal care involved in this role and there will be opportunities to work with other people we support and gain skills working with children and adults who are Deafblind.
The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.
