About the role We’re currently recruiting Education Support Workers to join our team at our Sense College in Loughborough working either 20 or 30 hours per week on a permanent basis.

Job Description

Please note with this role being based in a college you will work 38 weeks per year and therefore your salary and holidays will be pro-rata. Our college is open Monday to Fridays between 8am and 5pm so you must be available to work inbetween these hours. 

The successful applicant will work with people who have dual or single sensory impairment, learning disability and / or autism. The role involves providing a person centred approach to meet communication, information and mobility needs through the development of learning plans to reduce the isolation of people through community involvement and support in a range of activities.

As an Education Support Worker you will support people to be as involved as possible in every part of their day to day lives so that they can be full and active members of society. You will work closely with learners to achieve the long term goals identified in their Individual Learning Plans.

A full UK driving licence is preferred but is not essential for the role.

Supporting people with their personal care is a requirement of this role.

About you

It is essential that you are able to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating your own initiative. Have an understanding the importance of person –centred planning and have the ability to contribute to and support the development and monitoring of person centred plans and education, health and care plans.

GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths is an essential requirement for this role.
