As our ideal candidate, you bring experience of managing a Digital UX function, developing UX strategies and extensive UX/UI design experience including designing interfaces that are responsive and optimised for mobile and tablet.

Job Description

As our Digital Product Design Lead, you will be integral to the design and development of great online products and interfaces for our customers. In this role, you’ll thrive on understanding how customers think and behave online and will build that into the discovery stages through to final design.

You’ll manage our digital UX functions, including all areas of digital product design, from user research to producing low-fi sketches and paper prototypes, through to high quality fully interactive, responsive html wireframes.

Working closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders, this role will ensure digital design is forward thinking and future-proofed, as well as on-brand and consistent.

In this role, you’ll lead by example and inspire a team of digital UX designers – championing UX within the business and working with key stakeholders and groups to prioritise deliverables and allocate workloads.

Working arrangements

This is a dual location role, with your working time split between your Home and approximately one day per fortnight in our London Office. This will allow us to unlock our best work for our cause, blending the best of home and office working.

Here at the BHF we understand that you might need a little help balancing your work and home life. Many of our people work flexibly in many ways. Please feel free to talk to us about the flexibility you may need; we’re happy to explore what’s possible for you and the role.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you bring experience of managing a Digital UX function, developing UX strategies and extensive UX/UI design experience including designing interfaces that are responsive and optimised for mobile and tablet.

A positive and passionate team player, you have experience of development in an Agile environment, solid experience in user research and web graphic design, as well as prototype and wireframe creation (using one of more wireframing tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, Proto.io, InVision, Figma or similar).

With strong communication skills and an ability to motivate others and create buy-in for UX principles and approaches, you have a first-class design brain, excellent attention to detail, and an ability to understand a wide range of audiences and meet their needs.

Early application is encouraged as we will review applications throughout the advertising period and reserve the right to close the advert early. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check.
