Sense are looking for a motivated person to join our professional team as a Community Support Worker in Blaenau Gwent. This is a part time position, working a minimum of 2 hours per week in a community setting.
This role is in a well established community service, supporting over 40 clients with sensory impairments to maintain independence and carry out activities that are important to them. Support can include helping a client with their weekly shopping, taking exercise or attending local groups.
You will support an individual to do the things they want to do - not to do things for them. You’ll be there to act as the eyes and ears of the individual – to make sure that communication is clear and that they are able to move around safely.
You must be able to work flexible hours to suit the service requirements and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
BSL skills would be an advantage but is not essential.
You must be enthusiastic, adaptable and friendly with a commitment to ensuring the individual you work with get the best out of their lives.
