We’re seeking to recruit a great new support worker on a part time basis working 10 hours per week during term time and 24 hours per week in the school holidays; someone with the right values and behaviours to work in our bespoke service.
The person you will support communicates using British Sign Language (BSL) and has specified they would like to be supported by someone "energetic, outgoing, creative and full of beans". You will make each day be the best it can possibly be by doing activities including bike riding and going on rollercoasters. You’ll be adaptive and able to come with ideas and solutions quickly.
For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
However, you don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need care qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker / Intervenor, we will provide you with all the training you may require. The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they all treated as such. However, as a general guide, duties may include activities such as supporting the young person to access the community and encourage their communication and social interaction.
